Quick Fire Fab® Panicle Hydrangea (Paniculata)

Our shrubs are currently going dormant. The foliage is turning colors, drying out, and falling off. During dormancy, plants go inactive to conserve their energy for the next growing season. This happens naturally as seasons change!

Quick Fire Fab has large, football-sized, and shaped blooms with densely packed flowers of a creamy white color. The blooms age pink to bright pink to deep red through the season starting at the base of the bloom and working up towards the tip. It blooms earlier in the summer than the other Quick Fire hydrangeas. The flower color is not affected by soil pH. Beautiful for use as a fresh or dried cut flower. It attracts pollinators and deadheading is not necessary for continued bloom.

  • 6-8 feet tall and 5-6 feet wide at maturity
  • Grows in zones 3-8
  • Plant in partial to full sun in northern climates and part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates.

Our deciduous shrubs are entering their natural dormancy phase. As part of this process, foliage is turning colors, drying out, and falling off—this is completely normal! Shedding leaves helps the plants conserve energy and prepare for the next growing season. Rest assured, your shrubs will wake up and thrive again when it's time in your growing zone. Dormancy is how they prepare for a healthy, vibrant comeback as the seasons change!

Care: Cut back by about one-third its total height in early spring, just as the new growth is beginning to emerge on the stems. Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer.

Troubleshooting: If blooms do not age to pink and red, this indicates that the plant is either in too much shade, it experienced drought stress, or that night time temperatures were unusually high.

Quick Fire Fab!

They came looking great! I thought they would be a little bigger but I was not disappointed at all! The foliage is thick and green and should root in well and grow significantly in the Spring.
