Welcome to our Sustainability Spotlight! At the very heart of our mission lies a deep-rooted commitment to nurturing our planet and fostering sustainable practices within our industry.
As pioneers in the green sector, we don't just talk the talk; we walk it, breathe it, and grow with it. From encouraging our garden friends to cultivate vibrant pollinator gardens to conscientiously managing our own ecological footprint, sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us— it's a way of life.
Dive in to discover how we're going the extra mile, from our Eco+ Containers and irrigation flood floor techniques to our adoption of LED lighting and recent investment in solar energy. Join us on this journey towards a greener future!
We believe plant-powered packaging is the future of sustainable gardening. We are committed to reducing single-use plastic and minimizing our environmental impact. That’s why we’re proud to offer Eco+ Containers, made from 100% plant-powered materials!
These innovative containers are fully compostable, made from renewable plant sources like corn stalks and roots left over after crops are harvested in the U.S. As a result, our Eco+ Containers not only provide a sustainable alternative to plastic, but they also enrich your garden. They contain organic nutrients built right into the walls of the container, which means that as the container naturally breaks down, it feeds essential nutrients directly into your plant’s roots.
Grow your garden in the most sustainable way possible with our Eco+ Containers—made from plants, for plants. Together, we can create a greener future for both our gardens and our planet!

We’ve implemented three types of flood floors across 19 acres of our greenhouses, each designed to optimize water usage and ensure our plants thrive without waste. Our personal favorite is the Cascade Flood Floor System, which creates a charming, fountain-like effect as water bubbles into the growing floor (pictured above in the middle). This visually appealing design isn’t just for aesthetics—it’s an efficient way to irrigate plants evenly and sustainably.
Once the floor is filled, water moves across the growing area to ensure that all plants are evenly irrigated. When the plants are sufficiently watered, the system uses the floor itself as a filter, allowing the water to flow back through, recycling it without pooling. This process minimizes water waste and ensures that our plants—whether perennials or shrubs—receive consistent and ample hydration without any excess runoff.
This sustainable irrigation system helps us grow high-quality plants while maintaining our commitment to conserving resources and minimizing environmental impact.
Our sprawling 5 acres of LED lights not only brighten our property with a luminous glow but also champion sustainability. We’ve transitioned from using traditional high-pressure sodium lights, which were once considered the most efficient, to LED lighting. This change has allowed us to reduce our electricity consumption by 40%—a significant energy saver!
What makes our LED lights even more impactful is their use of pink and blue spectrums, which are specifically tailored to optimize plant growth. By providing the ideal light conditions for our plants, we ensure they thrive while minimizing energy usage. This combination of effective lighting and energy savings helps us grow healthier plants while doing our part for the environment.

We are continually striving to improve our sustainability efforts. Toward the end of 2023, we took a significant step forward by signing a contract with Harvest Solar to install two solar arrays on our property.
These solar arrays have made a big impact on our operations, reducing our annual electrical usage by over 25%. By harnessing the power of the sun, we’re not only reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources but also cutting down our carbon footprint.
This initiative is a key part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, as it allows us to grow plants more efficiently while minimizing the impact on the environment of our operations. It’s just one of the many steps we’re taking to create a greener, more sustainable future for both our plants and the planet.

Did you know all of Proven Winners® signature white plastic branded containers and labels are 100% recyclable? Even all Co-Ex-sized white containers include recycled material!
This means that when you’re finished using them, they can be recycled, helping reduce waste. In addition, even our Co-Ex-sized white containers, which are designed for durability and optimal plant growth, are made with recycled materials. These efforts not only contribute to reducing the environmental impact of plastic but also reflect our commitment to using sustainable practices in every part of our process.

We all know that plants can get pests and diseases. We control them by relying heavily on biocontrol techniques, such as beneficial predatory insect releases and crop-level yellow sticky cards in the greenhouse. Beneficial predatory insects are released into the growing environments via five-gallon buckets used as release stations or sprayed out over certain crops with a bug gun (a blower-like device shown above). We also use yellow sticky cards placed at crop level to monitor for insect pest activity. These cards serve as advance indicators of potential pest trouble. Each method of dispersal is specifically suited to particular insect types.
Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do. From using 100% recyclable white plastic containers to adopting LED lighting for optimized plant growth and energy savings, we are dedicated to being Eco-consciousness. Every decision we make reflects our commitment to a greener, more sustainable future—ensuring that our beautiful plants not only thrive but do so in harmony with the planet. Through these efforts, we’re proud to lead the industry in sustainability and provide you with products that make a positive impact on your garden and the environment.
