Garden Treasure is an indeterminate, slicer type tomato that has a true heirloom taste, with modern disease resistance and a high yield of large fruit. It has a smooth, balanced flavor and is delicious in salads and sauces. Grow in the landscape or in a 14" diameter pot or larger with a cage or staking.

Care: Consistent watering and regular fertilization will be key to keeping your plant in full production mode. This tomato will produce fruit for an extended period of time, fruit matures in about 72 days. Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food.

Plant Powered Packaging by Proven Winners®: Introducing the full annual Eco+Grande collection! The Eco+Grande is a game changing Plant Container made from plants! This compostable container is made from starchy renewable plants like corn, switch grass and sugar beets grown in the United States. The Eco+Grande has nutrients built into the wall of the container that helps plants grow bigger and faster all season, if planted in the ground. When the Proven Winners Eco+Grande container is discarded in the garbage can, it will naturally break down faster in a landfill than a traditional petroleum made container. The container will get smaller and smaller until microbes consume it, turning it back into an inert organic product.

A New Favorite!!

I must tell you this tomato is definitely a new favorite! It will be on my list for next year for the following reasons. 1. Proved to be quite disease resistant. 2. Demonstrated good heat resistance through these horrific heat waves of 95+ degrees several days in a row. We’ve had 2 such waves so far in New England and the plant held up. I did lose some flowers but the plant itself didn’t “scorch” as did some of my other varieties. 3. The tomato was a nice big slicing tomato, it produced a good number of them and there was little if any “cracking”. 4. This was a nice meaty tomato, I am growing other varieties that proved to be just too watery….not this tomato! 5. This was one of my “go to” varieties for making a sauce, I usually use San Marzanos only but this one was a nice addition. All in all, a very nice tomato that I will look forward to growing again.
