Size Guide

Supertunia® Bordeaux™ has beautiful light purple flowers with deep purple veins. Supertunia petunias are vigorous with slightly mounded habits that function as both fillers and spillers in containers. They are also excellent landscape plants, best suited to be placed near the front of beds. This award winner is heat and drought tolerant, attracts pollinators, and does not need to be deadheaded.

  • 4-12 inches tall and 18-24 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11
  • Plant in part sun to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 12-24 inches apart for best results
  • Produces light purple flowers with dark purple veining spring through frost
  • Maintains green foliage spring through frost
  • Great for containers, edging, groundcover, landscapes, mass plantings
  • Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds
  • Heat and drought tolerant, long blooming, deadheading not necessary

The Eco+Grande features nutrients embedded in the container walls, which help plants grow bigger and faster throughout the season when planted in the ground. Be sure to remove the tabs from the container before planting. If you choose to plant in a container, we recommend taking the plant out of the Eco+Grande, breaking it apart, and mixing it into the soil at the time of planting. When the Proven Winners Eco+Grande container is discarded in the garbage can, it will naturally break down faster in a landfill than a traditional petroleum made container. The container will get smaller and smaller until microbes consume it, turning it back into an inert organic product. Learn more about this in our blog.

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Give a light trim anytime you think it's needed or at least once in July and once in August. Never trim off more than 20% of the branches.

Smaller flowers than I thought they would be compared to the picture. But that was probably the image. Plants themselves are growing nicely in a stone bridge box.

They should make a mini vista for this Bordeaux.

Bordeaux didn’t work out very well for me. I had it in a pot with Hoopla Vivid Orchid and it just never really grew much bigger than a few blossoms. I keep cutting the Hoopla back to give it some room, but it is just not happy in the pot it’s in. I think I will try another variety next year.
