If you're looking for a plant that can handle the heat—and look stunning while doing it—look no further than the Mojave® Mango Portulaca! Part of the tough and colorful Mojave® series, this beauty is perfect for scorching hot days and drought-prone gardens. With large, vibrant mango-colored blossoms and a striking scarlet ring around the center, it’s a showstopper that catches the eye of pollinators like bees and butterflies. The bullseye effect of the blooms acts as a beacon, ensuring your garden is always buzzing with life. But it’s not just pretty—Mojave® Mango is a hard worker, too. The self-cleaning flowers mean minimal maintenance, and its non-stop blooming continues all the way from spring to frost. Whether you're planting it in containers or directly in the landscape, this hardy plant delivers an outstanding performance all season long, even in the harshest conditions. Need a plant that can handle extreme heat, drought, and still deliver stunning blooms? Mojave® Mango Portulaca is up for the challenge!

  • 4-8 inches tall and 12-16 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 8-10 inches apart for best results
  • Produces mango gold flowers planting through frost
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Great for containers, edges, groundcover, landscapes and mass planting
  • Attracts bees and butterflies
  • Heat tolerant, drought tolerant, salt tolerant, long blooming, deadheading not necessary, continuous bloomer

Care: The flowers of Portulaca will close at night and reopen the next day.  They will tolerate dry soils, although they will perform optimally with average moisture.  These are tough plants that will tolerate poor soils and do not need a lot of fertilizer to perform well.  Deadheading is not needed.
