Double Play® Candy Corn Spirea is the epitome of effortless beauty with its vibrant, multi-toned foliage that transitions from yellow to orange to red, creating a stunning display all season long. Known for being blissfully low-maintenance, this variety naturally forms a neat, rounded shape without the need for pruning. If you prefer, a light trim after the blooms fade will encourage even more colorful new growth. Deer and rabbits typically ignore Double Play® Candy Corn, and after a year or two in the ground, it becomes quite drought-tolerant, making it a perfect choice for both beauty and practicality in your landscape.

  • 1.5-2 feet tall and 1.5-2.5 feet wide at maturity

  • Produces purple flowers in late spring through early summer
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, edging, landscapes, mass plantings, low hedges, focal points
  • Resists deer
  • Deadheading not necessary, drought tolerant, long blooming, low maintenance, seedless, foliage interest

Our deciduous shrubs are entering their natural dormancy phase. As part of this process, foliage is turning colors, drying out, and falling off—this is completely normal! Shedding leaves helps the plants conserve energy and prepare for the next growing season. Rest assured, your shrubs will wake up and thrive again when it's time in your growing zone. Dormancy is how they prepare for a healthy, vibrant comeback as the seasons change!

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prune after spring bloom if desired.

I ordered the smaller pot of these but I'm very pleased with the plants. They are healthy, even after planting the held up well and I am looking forward to see in their performance in the spring.

3 of the 4 plants look great, the 4th doesn't look very good and actually looked damaged in shipping possibly. Not sure if you can tell by the picture, but you can see in the distance the other three look healthy and upright, whereas the close one is basically lying on the ground lifeless.

I purchased 4 of these shrubs in the spring. The soil was amended, mulched and fertilized including bio tone at initial planting. It gets a minimum of hours of sunlight. They got watered a couple times per week during summer and once a week recently. They just look horrible. I don’t recommend these

I chose this plant because it was cute in the picture, but now that it is in the ground, adapting to its new environment it's absolutely radiant. It's such a beautiful plant
