Amazing Daisies® 'Daisy May' Shasta Daisy (Leucanthemum)

Our perennials are currently going dormant. The foliage and blooms begin to brown and die back. We provide a hard trim in the greenhouse to support this process. During dormancy, plants go inactive to conserve their energy for the next growing season. This happens naturally as seasons change!

Though 'Daisy May' may look like a typical daisy at first, look again at her large, snow white flowers which blanket the plant and all the buds along each stem. Because of better branching and many side buds, this daisy blooms much longer than typical daisies do, often all summer long if deadheaded. It's great in containers and landscapes and attracts pollinators.

  • 12-24 inches tall and 10-14 inches wide at maturity
  • Grows in zones 5-9
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)

Our perennial plants are entering their natural dormancy phase. As part of this process, foliage and blooms are browning and dying back—this is completely normal! We give the plants a hard trim in our greenhouse to support them as they conserve energy for the next growing season. Rest assured, your perennials will wake up and thrive again when it's time in your growing zone. Dormancy is how they prepare for a healthy, vibrant comeback as the seasons change!

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Deadheading isn't necessary but removal of old blooms may improve the appearance of the plant and may increase bloom length.
