Garden Gem is a semi-determinate, snack-size tomato that has a true heirloom taste, with modern disease resistance and high fruit yield. It has firm, juicy fruit with a smooth, balanced flavor, perfect for snacking.This easy to grow favorite is a must have for all gardens looking to harvest from their gardens for dinner!

The Eco+Grande features nutrients embedded in the container walls, which help plants grow bigger and faster throughout the season when planted in the ground. Be sure to remove the tabs from the container before planting. If you choose to plant in a container, we recommend taking the plant out of the Eco+Grande, breaking it apart, and mixing it into the soil at the time of planting. When the Proven Winners Eco+Grande container is discarded in the garbage can, it will naturally break down faster in a landfill than a traditional petroleum made container. The container will get smaller and smaller until microbes consume it, turning it back into an inert organic product. Learn more about this in our blog.

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Grow in the landscape or in a 14" diameter pot. It should not need staking or caging but support can be provided if needed. Consistent watering and regular fertilization will be key to keeping your plant in full production mode. These plants will produce tomatoes for an extended period of time and thrives in heat and humidity. Fruit ripens in about 65 days.

I was happy to have grown this variety since it was my first to ripen tomato this season! It even beat my “Early Girls”. It is on the small side but had a nice meatiness to it and produced quite an abundance. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was it did seem to succumb to the heat waves we’ve had ( which were horrific this summer). The plant itself scorched and lost most of the flowers. However, If the weather conditions had been more in keeping with what New England usually experiences, I’m sure I would have favored this tomato with closer to 5 stars.

I’m very pleased with the plants I had shipped to me. I can find things cheaper in person, but I live pretty far from any nursery that would carry anything similar.
