Quick Fire flowers open pure white then turn pink, and will be an extremely dark rosy-pink in the fall. Beautiful for use as a fresh or dried cut flower. Unlike other panicle hydrangeas, it also has excellent fall foliage color for a final hurrah before winter. It attracts pollinators and deadheading is not necessary for continued bloom. The flower color is not affected by soil pH.
- 6-8 feet tall and wide at maturity
- Grow in zones 3-8
- Plant in partial to full sun in northern climates and part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates.
Care: Cut back by about one-third of its total height in early spring, just as the new growth is beginning to emerge on the stems. Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer.
Troubleshooting: If blooms do not age to pink and red, this indicates that the plant is either in too much shade, that it experienced drought stress, or that night time temperatures were unusually high.
