Quick Fire flowers open pure white then turn pink, and will be an extremely dark rosy-pink in the fall. The flower color on Quick Fire hydrangea is not affected by soil pH. Beautiful for use as a fresh or dried cut flower. Unlike other panicle hydrangeas, Quick Fire also has excellent fall foliage color for a final hurrah before winter. It attracts pollinators and deadheading is not necessary for continued bloom.
Quick Fire reaches 6-8 feet tall and wide at maturity and is hardy in zones 3-8. Plant in partial to full sun in northern climates and part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates. Cut back by about one-third its total height in early spring, just as the new growth is beginning to emerge on the stems. Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer.
If blooms do not age to pink and red, this indicates that the plant is either in too much shade, that it experienced drought stress, or that night time temperatures were unusually high.
1 gallon shrubs are 6-24 inches tall at shipment and quart shrubs are 5-8 inches tall at shipment depending on the season and plant.
