A wonderfully tall grass, Graceful Grasses® Purple Fountain Grass has burgundy seed heads that rest atop neat bronze-purple foliage that seems to always be swaying pleasantly in the wind. While this grass should be treated as an annual in areas that fall below 20 degrees F, it can provide excellent winter interest when frozen over and covered in ice!
- 2.5-3 feet tall and 1.5-2 feet wide at maturity
- Annual except in zones 9-11
- Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours)
Care: Cut back in fall, or by mid to late spring. If you live in an area where fire isn't a problem, you can leave the dried grasses and seed heads in your garden for winter interest.
