The striking Calathea is sure to bring enchantment to your space. 'Freddie' is a prayer plant, the common name for plants that tend to fold their foliage as night falls. Prayer plants include plants in the following genera: Calathea, Maranta, Stromanthe, and Ctenanthe. Calathea are grown for their beautifully ornamental leaves. Freddie has bicolored striped foliage that alternates between silvery or soft green and deep green bands. Other common names include 'Zebra Plant'. Calathea concinna has been reclassified as Goeppertia concinna.
In the evening, the plants withdraw their leaves to get a restful night. How cute is that?!
